From the Author: Why I'm glad it's back in print.
Although the story of "I Stay Near You" was prompted by watching a harpist play to a dinner of some 900 people (no one listening) as I described in BLOOD ON THE FOREHEAD, Cake. The Storm family and the Basque ring are very much from real life. I seldom write that close to the bone, but this harpist triggered a memory...and this book was a pleasure to write. The town, the lake - all of it including the WWII background come from my life as a teenager in Auburn, New York. What a thrill to hear readers say they enjoyed it!
