Print on Demand. This book, published in the mid-eighteenth century, explores ideas about population trends and the increase of mankind, as well as the themes of marriage and mortality. The author, regarded as one of the pioneers in the field of population statistics, examines vital phenomena and argues against the views popular at the time that war, famine, or disease were necessary to maintain a balance between population and subsistence. The work provides an in-depth analysis of the regularity and conformity of birth, marriage, and death rates. Exploring the social, economic, and political factors that influence population dynamics, the author emphasizes the importance of government intervention to promote population growth and the well-being of its citizens. A groundbreaking contribution to the understanding of population statistics, this book laid the foundation for further research and policy development in this field. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. …

Sussmilch married at the age of thirty Charlotte Dorothy Lieberkuhn. We are assured by his biographers that his home life was exceptionally felicitous, and that he was never so happy as when in his library, surrounded by the books which he had collected at great expense. He was blessed with ten children, nine of whom with his wife survived him. He died from an attack of apoplexy, March 22, 1767, at the age of sixty.
