Spine and edges faded, boards a bit rubbed and soiled with several small scuffs on front edges, front and end matter a bit foxed. Binding tight and square, text clean and unmarked. 1839 Hard Cover. 416, 96 pp. Ninety-six pages of engravings, maps, and facsimiles following text, as well as a fold-out map of the United States by French cartographer Thomas Duvofenay. An Italian translation of Roux de Rochelle's history of the United States, originally entitled Etats-Unis d'Amerique. Roux de Rochelle was a French geographer, author and diplomat, and wrote the work during his time as French ambassador to the U.S. in the early 1830s.
