A very scarce pamphlet discussing the question of seat rents in churches in Edinburgh, when churches would rent pews to families or individuals as a means of raising income. This pamphlet argues against seat rents and their high cost.By Alexander Irving and James Moncreiff. Disbound, with a small amount of back strip remaining. Internally, the first gathering is detached but present. Pages are very lightly age-toned and clean with a few light handling marks. Small puncture marks to the gutter. Good.
