“The State of Intellectual Property in India (2020–21 to 2024–25) delivers a comprehensive evidentiary audit of India's evolving IP landscape. The report reveals that while India has rapidly expanded its formal legal and administrative capacity, a critical structural gap persists in converting filing growth into commercially defensible, globally competitive assets. To bridge this divide, the report establishes a targeted seven-pillar reform agenda (2026–2031). Ultimately, this framework redefines national strategy—shifting focus from chasing filing numbers toward monetising domestic innovation, securing global commercial value, and building institutional depth.” – Prof. (Dr.) Annamma Samuel Professor & Assistant Dean(Research) SRM School of Law, Chennai “This report provides a panoramic view of the evolution of IP domains in India in terms of qualitative and quantitative parameters in last few years, with invention at the center stage. The report is well researched and accurate in its scientific content, providing valuable information on recent trends on patent file and grant, trademark, copy right, also Indian Patent Office performance, semiconductor and digital IP, traditional knowledge and GI. The report, by its sheer excellence, reiterates the megadiverse status of IP landscape of India. The full range of intellectual property is covered in over 600 pages under 15 chapters. The strength of this report is that it serves not only as a guide, but is also a scholarly piece of work that could serve the purpose of a reference book. This remarkable report, outstandingly-well written, represents a bold tour de force through recent developments in Indian IP ecosystem. This report is eminently readable with lots of figures and graphs, unique in terms of its scope and suitable for a very wide audience, from entrepreneurs and academicians to researcher and policy makers. I would recommend this report for all libraries of university and institutes, where IPR, innovation, incubation are pursued.” Prof. (Dr.) Pritam Deb DPIIT Chair Professor Intellectual Property Rights Cell Tezpur University (Central University) Tezpur 784028.…
