To select my thoughts

When God said to Lili
Open your heart of beauty
Lili smiled and opened
All of her petals fully
As I look at the Lili
My heart opens automatically
I smile for Lili and I

Yesterday and Today

I lit a fire to the bridge that connected me to yesterday
What lived yesterday is gone and has an end today
Paradise lost, only imagined in memories of yesterday
All I have learned, memory can't repeat again today
The garment of obligation that I wore yesterday
It is the mark of my humility that I wear today
My suffering is for what could have been yesterday
In sixty years of struggle, I see "in now" only today
When my body is no longer as young as yesterday
My life is on the water, yet I breathe the air today
Quest for freedom, I suffered unnecessarily yesterday
Until I realized it was necessary to carry me to today
Invitation of possibility to find greater self in yesterday
Willingness to look deep within by finding me today


Fear

I fell and fell again
Till I saw the fear
Left the fear in mind
And I got free again


When I Met Me

I have mapped the world
I have learned its language
I have attained positions
Life was not signed over to me

I weep for perfection
I look for awareness
I meet with others
No one handed me the key

I am in need of Love
I am weary to love
I am here for Love
Love came when I met me


Guide

Blind eye master played with my spirit
As if he was playing with mala or keys
He prepared, and he dropped the music
With strength of the note, my heart stood still
I saw the image of all that I dote and adore
He said, mind will always be on the move
Boundless freedom, in vain you seek
Experience your life for it is your music
Soul without a body, is devoid of meaning
Truth, you have been sent out to seek


I Lived

I thought if I achieve detachment from
I thought if I yearn liberation within
I thought if I devote all to my needs
I thought I have lived

I heard a voice from the sea
I am born liberated you see
I have no needs
I am not attached
I know I lived


Soul's Journey

I turn the dial to stop on my grandfather's clock
Taking a journey to world I do not understand
How long will this last, how would I find out
It is a miracle that I am starting out
I know in my mind, greed and anger reside
Without journey into soul, even shadows follow along
I got all tangled inside when I believed my mind
It is calling me, I hear, let's stop, let's depart
Loving your mind is not the journey, its wind apart
Graveyard of the past was the traveling mind
Understanding wind as it dances all around
It always turns to rest in the firmament vast
Abandoning my attachment, even to my mighty mind
In this journey that I am on, there is no end in sight
Inquisitive, is not the soul, requests are none
Such an equanimity of success or failure will not bind
The journey to my soul, the immeasurable light to life
Devotion with love, truth of oneself, the journey I am on


Quiet Music

Tranquility of life is sleeping with open sky
It is when the music plays and tree sways
When the garden snake tangos gracefully with earth
Rejoice knowing the hidden jewel inside your heart
The greatest teacher, penetrates inside out
And the lessons we learn are in the trembling
Wrinkling faces of the mirrors passing by
Listen to the music from the world we live in
You may even hear mountain sing standing tall
United we are, by music, laughter and joy of being
Give thanks to beloved, and sun for the warmth of ray
Where the willow tree sings silently all day
Astonishment is in silence that leaves blind in ecstasy
For they see what does not exist for you and me


Exhale

Awaken-one said, consult your heart of hearts
Religion only teaches you the worldly path
Delightful are the pleasures in the world we are
And it brings us the desire and judgement of all
But if we follow our own desire heart closes door
For our heart knows and needs no worldly things
Sit by the lilies consult with the trees
And the grass will hold you steady
While the air takes you to the height
Close your eyes, take a breath
Taste the air in and out of your lungs
Universe awaits for you to exhale
The juror and the judgment to depart


Breaking the Mold

Let's break the mold of old identity
Sociological fear can't be our history
These were the lessons being taught
Children by thirty, at the house by daddy

Listen with curiosity and speak honestly
Act with integrity and character, not personality
Lessons learned in life will fortify you to be
Personality is a learned habit, on that we agree

The boundaries set forth with and by self
Who we want to be, what we want to reach
To be centered in present, not in future bond
Breaking the boundaries is what life is about

Communicate by listening, not to reply by turn
We will hear, when listening, to understand
The words behind what has not been said
Reaching the fullest potential, effortless it will be


Echoes

As the sun slides down
From my face to my toes
I feel earth move upward
By the thread of my heels
Indwelling present with
Invisible words, I hear echoes
Deep in my heart
I understand the words of my soul
Intensely involved with echoes
From voices beyond
I dwell not, on earth nor the sun
For this body belongs
And is of the sun
As well as of the earth it walks on


Life is a Stream

Had been wearing armor as long as I can remember
Denied at every turn, pain I inflicted on to others
Convinced it was so, how I felt about what happened
Comments I made, hiding the fear, I held on to armor

Stripped the raiment of fear; trust and faith connected
Relinquishing attempts in abusing body, health resulted
To live my life willingly, love surrendered completely
Loveless desire gave up its crown fundamentality

My heart has expanded, and love has lost its limitation
The illumination of intellect, humility of soul in revelation
Mysteries of spiritual poverty, no longer hidden from me
By way of proclaiming this body in now, life is a stream

Busy Thoughts

I heard of a loved one passing
I fell down on my knees
I begged him, please
It is too soon, I had no chance
I wanted to know the soul of his
I am busy with my thoughts
It is what keeps me apart
I like to know my loved ones
If I can only halt my thoughts


Interlock of Lies

You have been given keys to a door
When you find it, enter, if you know for sure
Time is not on your side, that is certain
Ominous thoughts can-not be beaten
Trust the instinct you brought with you
Door you look for, it will appear to you
Unveil the haze covering your eyes
Room you entered, never left behind
Come with me and leave the wise to talk
Nothing will come of it, only an interlock
One think is certain, time of our lives flies
Everything we strive for is nothing but lies


Music

I heard the music long, long ago
When pipes were calling the "one"
Angels would come down
With melody so divine
Unearthly stairs would make me climb
Music was uplifting, charming to the ear
My tormented heart longs for its sound
Memories I recall, no words to describe
Music was divine, the sound was one


Floating Heart

It was a very good night
When your candle got put out
Angels labored with delight
To make the arrival be grand

You were given life, a chance
But in frigid hour of your mind
Kissed the sun just one last time
Said goodbye to the life you had

Stepped on earth like a snowflake
Extinguishing light within your depth
Tied a string to love you knew

Confabulate

Some time ago when I believed
That I am my mind and not me
Was lost in thought, who I like to be
I wrote, mapped the life ahead of me
Opposed to love, was game of mind
Forgot what was real and unreal to me
Failure, disappointments, came to be
Heartbreak was crafted only by me
Confabulates, is it my mind or me


Beloved

You came to my life unexpectedly
You offered a life of immortality
You amused me
Captivated, mesmerized
In awe you left me
You walked me a path
You taught me to be
You gave your heart to me
Illusions, beliefs, person within
You displayed me
Stripped from my poverty
You threw away my time
You groomed me
My beloved, you lured me
Your sweet intoxication
Your gift of liberation
Beyond compare you are to me
Incredible, what you have done to me


Truth of Love

In my truth God is grace, not believed or thought out
Much like the sun when over mountain but not gone
Rise up, waste not, strange journey have taking part
Ocean of meanings, have to reject and disaffiliate
Follow a path, but not of a friend, you'll soon find out
You have carried the love, in existence in heart
Love relation, your devotion and attraction to God
Let it be caressed by sun and quenched by falls
And when you let the wind sway you around
The beauty of your soul, truth of who you are
Flows through and connects the universe and all
Love in the heart is grace, it fills and frees us all


If I Let Go

If I let go of judgment, do I lose control
If I let go of blaming other, do I stand alone
If I let go of caring for, do I lose my pulse
If I let go of fear, do I admit loss of power
If I let go of past, do I know who I am
If I let go of future, do I learn to grow
If I let go with no regret, I know I love now
If I let go of everything, I know I am me now


Live from Heart

In drinking wine I had many
Getting drunk I had none
In my quest to reach the mountain
Cleansing of soul I had done
The Sufi I knew, guided me through
And when I complained to be explained
It can't be understood, I am not a scholar
Experience life as it comes to you
Listen to the wind and sound of river too
Perhaps the birds will sing a song to you
If you end the search and be in the heart
You will awaken if you live from your heart


Remember Love

Love will do the deed
Even for the darkest heart
Love will make you bleed
Love is tender
Love is sweet
Even from afar it can hit
Who can escape it
Who can it deny
Love is the string
We are spun of


Footprint

Deep in my heart heaven glows
But in my head oh ... a lion roars
No sound in heaven as is soundless lion
Who do I go to which do I follow
I measure I weigh, resignation goes
The mind I adore, glory I know
I close my eyes, blindly I see
Colors are heavenly all here with me
Is this God's footprint I see

Thoughts

In the dead of night
When I am woken by light
The thoughts rush in
I try to focus
I grab the beam

This Body

The manufacturer of this body functions within
This house of soul, water and salt is built-in
No other one can mold, stretch or paint gold
From birth it flows, it changes, and becomes old
What am I holding on? All will be stripped away
Do I let go of life? No, let go of what appears as self
Time's not a friend, in passing I am closer to the end
Illusion is the body, assuming that the body "I am"
Two wings of life, fear on one, created in mind
Faith, as it shines in heart, I must have them both
In accepting as I am, living water in a moving river
Then all my senses come alive, perfume of life
My beloved's face, devotion to love, and I fly
