About the Author
Teeradaj Racharak is an Associate Professor in the AI Algorithms Division at the Advanced Institute of So-Go-Chi (Convergence Knowledge) Informatics, Tohoku University, Japan, and a Visiting Associate Professor at the School of Information Science, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST). His research spans across knowledge representation and reasoning, trustworthy machine learning, and neural-symbolic learning. Recent contributions include work on metaphoric testing for language models, weight-aware evaluation of knowledge embeddings, argumentation mining in user-generated content, and under specification analysis in image classification pipelines. These projects reflect his multidisciplinary approach to advancing trustworthy AI across perception, language, and structured knowledge. In addition, Dr. Racharak is actively engaged in building frameworks and methodologies that support verifiable and interpretable AI, contributing to a future in which intelligent systems can be both powerful and principled. In addition to his academic contributions, he is affiliated as IEEE CertifAIEd Authorized Assessor from September 2023 and involved in the international standardization efforts in AI (ISO on Artificial Intelligence) from March 2024.
Gerlinde Weger is instrumental in establishing certification standards for the ethical use of advanced technologies and developing methodologies for enhancing human capacity and optimizing ethical technology deployment. Understanding that frameworks and processes are only as good as their implementation, Gerlinde focuses on education and communication for individuals and teams, enabling the power of technology to be harnessed responsibly. Her extensive international experience in governance, marketing/communications, and behavioral change positions her uniquely to anticipate the transformative demands necessitated by advanced technologies. Gerlinde is the Technical Lead for IEEE-SA CertifAIEd and is the chair of IEEE-SA P7003 The Standard for Algorithmic Bias Considerations.
Andreas Pester graduated in mathematics from Odessa State University in 1976, he got his PhD from Kiev State University in 1979 and he habilitated at the University of Technology Dresden in 1984. 2020 he retired from the University of Applied Sciences in Carinthia in Austria. Currently he is a professor for natural language processing and deep learning at the British University in Egypt in Sherouk. He is the author and co-author of more than 75 publications. He was a guest professor at the UPC Barcelona, Technical University Porto, Technical Universities of Kharkov, Technical University Kiev, Polytechnic University St. Petersburg, State University of Petrozavodsk, BTH Karlskrona, University Maribor, UNESP Bauru (Brazil), AUA Erivan and others. He was and is involved in more than 20 EU- and national projects (as project leader or as collaborator), including Erasmus +, TEMPUS, MINERVA etc. His research interests are in deep learning, especially Graph Neural Network architectures and Large Language Models. Actually, he is the co-chair of the IEEE Global Engineering Conference (EDUCON’26), and he chaired also EDUCON’21, Interactive Collaborative and Blended Learning (ICBL) conferences from 2008 – 2019, and is member of the PC of several other conferences etc. He holds the IEEE Education Society Distinguished Chapter Leader Award 2023. He also holds the EDUCON Meritorious Service Award for outstanding contributions to the administrative and management efforts for the IEEE EDUCON conference.
Dr. C. Anantaram specializes in application of Artificial Intelligence techniques to real- world systems and his areas of work include trustworthy AI systems, explainability, knowledge representation, reasoning, and integrating AI techniques in business applications. He has 38 years of experience in AI and has published over 45 papers and holds 8 patents. He is an active member of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC42 Artificial intelligence committee, that is formulating international standards in the field of AI, and also an active member of the Indian standards committee, BIS LITD30, that focuses on both international and national standards in AI. He was a Visiting Faculty at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIIT Delhi from 2019 to 2023. Prior to that he was a Principal Scientist in the R&D division of Tata Consultancy Services Limited.
