Neuware - Kyle has found a way to escape Monster Island. He's built a raft and wants to sail away. But something is waiting for him in the depths of the sea. Monster Island series is filled with mythical beasts, treacherous terrain and a castaway captain who may have eaten one too many coconuts - who will manage to escape and who will be marooned forever All six titles have been written by Tim Collins, an expert in writing exciting stories for struggling readers, and this series is no exception. All the swashbuckling action is skilfully contained within a mere 300-500 words per book and is spread amongst amazing and imaginative illustrations; a winning combination to make reading an inviting experience rather than a daunting one. These engaging stories will also make brilliant quick reads for more able readers. This hi-lo horror series for struggling and reluctant readers has been written for children aged 12+, whose current reading age is between 6 and 7 years. These age-appropriate short reads have 32 pages, incorporate a large font size and text separated into bite-sized chunks, along with carefully considered letter and paragraph spacing that can reduce visual stress. The series has plenty of practice at one level, allowing consolidation of learning before moving on to more challenging reads. The vocabulary list of tricky words can aid comprehension before reading the book.…
