About the Author

Chelsea Luker is a psychologist who lives in Northern NSW Australia, proudly recognising this area as Bundjalung Country. The human experience has always intrigued Chelsea, leading her down the path of psychology. Today, as the owner of Connect Us Psychology, she dedicates her professional life to supporting Autistic and ADHDer individuals.Chelsea also brings lived experience to her work. She is an Autistic ADHDer herself and is familiar with feelings that can arise while navigating a world that doesn't always feel like it was built for you. Drawing from her lived and clinical experience, she wrote this book to provide a deep dive into the lives and minds of Autistic and ADHDer individuals. Chelsea is also a mother to two neurodivergent children. A significant motivator for her is to work toward a world where her children feel safe and valued as the sparkly humans they are.Chelsea's work is based on her hope for a future where society embraces and accommodates neurodiversity. She believes in the profound power of understanding and empathy to bring about social change. Through this book, she aims to articulate experiences that might be elusive to some, with the intention of fostering dialogues that lead to shared understanding.Chelsea's mission extends beyond these pages. She envisions a world where everyone's unique spark shines unencumbered. In a world that often pressures us to fit its moulds, Chelsea is working toward the day when we are no longer required to squeeze our dazzling, sparkly selves into round slots. Instead, she hopes we can craft a world where every glittering part is celebrated and embraced.Dive into this book and embark on a journey with Chelsea. Gain insight into the experiences of others, build your knowledge and, most importantly, feel seen and understood.

Eliza Fricker is also known as Missing the Mark and has illustrated several books including the Sunday Times bestseller,"Can't Not Won't". Her latest book is "Thumbsucker", about her own childhood experiences growing up undiagnosed autistic.
