It discusses how to use Excel to solve a variety of problems in introductory engineering analysis, such as graphing data, unit conversions, simple statistical analysis, sorting, searching and analyzing data, curve fitting, interpolation, solving algebraic equations, logical decisions, evaluating integrals, comparing economic alternatives, and finding optimum solutions. Numerous examples are included illustrating both traditional and spreadsheet solutions to a variety of problems. The underlying mathematical solution procedures are also discussed, so that the reader is provided with an understanding of what the spreadsheet does and how it does it.
