"Sports medicine and the scientific study of exercise, sports and physical education are enjoying a steady rise in popularity. This volume reveals that a number of current debates concerning the body, physical health, types and degrees of exercise, athletic contests, the use and abuse of aids to performance, and much more, have their roots in the nineteenth century and earlier". Volume has been read with edge wear visible to the soft cover and a tear to the top edge at the back, but the spine remains intact with no creasing. Area of sunning apparent on the front cover. Pages remain clean and free of inscriptions or annotations. Size: 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Weight: 545g.
