Chapter One

The River of Reflection Through the darkness of surreality - two lovers are revealed, aged like the leaves on the falls of the seasons. It is dusk, so you could barely see them whimsically walking out on stage - holding hands like children, skipping through a field where they stand at the edge of a lake, on a pier before they kneel. The Vintage Couple pull out their poetry books, both wrinkled and ruffled; face each other like the last pair of cards in a shuffle. They speak spontaneously 'cause their thoughts were always simultaneously combustible as if they were Siamese twins connected at the Love muscles, and they speak in the harmonious Clarity Of A One Accord Couple: "WE MADE IT THROUGH THE STRUGGLE!" The Vintage Woman scuffles closer to her male double and utters, "We put together the poetic puzzle ..." He slides his golden glasses to the edge of his nose like a rudder and rebuts, "We've had many lovers, but nobody loved you ..." She stutters as if the breath of her ancestors were blowing through her shutters and says in a quilted tone that is peaceful and comforting ... It's as if the surface of her accent were bathed in a Southern Diaspora that welcomes you, then hugs you when she affirmatively states, "Like ... I ... loved ... you ..." Vintage Man giggles, and then says, "Ditto!" She takes measured steps towards the river, turns and faces her life-partner and continues, "Now, there's no rhyme or riddle, metaphor with pop references and sizzle, that can express how I feel about you!" He looks at his boo and ensues, "When I read about you!" she turns her cheek as if she were emotionally blown away, looks down at the distressed wood beams beneath her feet, and states, "So, for the next few days at the pier of this lake, We're going to reminisce like CL smooth." He laughs and responds With, "My God, at the ledge of this stage, pull out our poetry books like fishing rods book ended with hooks." Vintage Woman says in her acknowledging way that has not left her to this day, "YES BABE, and the audience members are the prey." He finishes her thoughts like a period, "Now we reel in nave feelings, and our words are the bait that we use to catch soul mates who relate to an undying connection." They both throw their lines into the water and speak in perpetual perfection, "FISHING IN THE RIVER OF REFLECTION!" Irony is Destiny's Judge Flashback - 30 years ago - the details are blurry, but the memories are bright: Thursday night at Mic and Dim Lights, a place where poets frequent weekly in sequence to illuminate their insight. The dim light sizzles like the fire from the spark of a blunt on the face of an eye-catching Man, half covered with the hood of a sweat shirt with graffiti tagged on the front, some faded sagging jeans, and some two toned Lugs. He looked over in this poetry club and saw the profile of a woman with the silhouette of a dove, and stopped like his lungs were stuck in some mud and sung, "She's my future wife." His best friend Mizzle to his left said, "Is that right? And how do you know, Mr. insight?" He said, with the swagger of a thug, "Because it's indelibly written in Love." Meanwhile adjacent from the left side of the stage was the dove he was referring to sitting in a chair. She wore Bebe jeans with an embroidered orchid on the leg, and a silk scarf tied around her neck. Her Kango was beige. Oh yes, she was fresh! Her eyes were almond, and her complexion was the color that made him decide to reach over and whisper this poem in her ear. He said, "Listen to this poem." Her face had the captivated expression of shock as she bashfully stuttered, "What?" It was as if they fell in the ownership of the empty hole in their emotions pit at first sight, like drunken dancers in a club, as the poet on the stage ironically said, "Fudge ..."

Fudge Poem

FUDGE, your beauty is a crime we can't judge. You steal attention from the negligent without forensic evidence internally, externally - beauty in the 1st degree. God created you with favoritism, so I'm committing plagiarism. Ever since I saw you, I wanted to draw you, I wanted to immortalize you like a mural. I'm losin' in the end. Inside your beautiful skin, the vast array of gradients and your Nubian blends. You're in my camera scope like a bird. I'm shootin' you then I'm watchin' you fall to see the true you ascend, develop then rinse, hang you 'til you're dry, frame you cause you're fly, Angel in disguise. The performer on stage recited his piece to a woman who looked like melted chocolate yet frozen. He was dressed as though his skin were literally mocha.

The female performer on stage didn't utter a word until his piece was spoken.

And, once he was finished, her mouth slowly cracked open and poetically expressed her idea of his beauty to the crowd of captivated men who desire to hear loving terms that make them proud.

She stands from her pose and lets him taste a sample of how much she feels about him with a powerfully relative example.

When I make comments that compliment your manhood, you melt like chocolate over the flame of a candle.

Your lips are juicy, plump, wet, firm, and malleable, and they glide across the surface of my 70% body of water, like Jesus' sandals would.

Your skin is seared as if you marinated in your mother like a tanning booth. Your muscular definition is accurate like a Grecian statue. You get photographed and profiled like models by the police 'cause they don't understand you: Just because you tagged your body with graffiti, they think you're a vandal You're not a criminal - you're a trophy, and you should be displayed on a mantle. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate

Ripples, ripples, ripples, ripples!

The guys in the room go ballistic with whoop-whoops, claps, ruff-ruffs and whistles, and the women were momentarily crippled.

She turned over and looked him up and down slowly As her guard dropped and folded and her pupils dilated into focus, then she said cautiously, and I quote it, in a question that was loaded, "Well, Mr. Poem, I'll be your Mrs. Poem for the moment, but what exactly are Mr. Poem's motives?"

Her question was like an outfit on her mind so she posed it. He froze stiff and thought this: She's so beautiful she's causing my imagination to drive into over speed. He turned and whispered to Mizzle, "Every time she speaks it's as if her hair noticeably flows into poetry." Mizzle says jokingly, "MP, you been smoking weed?" He smirks then revolves back towards his awkwardly familiar stranger Like the moon to the earth And continues to converse. "What were you saying? Oh yeah I remember, you asked what are my motives." He answered with the confidence of a quarterback finding a receiver wide open, "A body of work that sits silently until I've Spoken." She turned to Serena, who was trying to ignore them, Serena frowned but she was too distracted to notice. The Mrs. Poem for the moment gave an adolescent smirk, then looked back towards him. Then he asked her something typical but appropriate, "Do you come here often?" He could hear Mizzle in the background saying, "Womp, Womp, that was corny."

But the female poet started laughing like he was Chris Tucker on a Friday Smoking, and the empty sound barrier was broken ...

Irony Is Destiny's Judge

"Mommy," says Vintage Man. "Yes, daddy," says Vintage Woman. On beat like a drum line, "Baby Girl, look at the sunrise: grow into a broad day sunshine and turn trees into sundials as the light blares so bright off the river, it could leave us sun blind!" Vintage Lady gradually turns her feeble grinding spine, looks into his tired eyes and sees a young mind, and replies, "Yes daddy, the leaves might fall, but the signature on our memoirs is one of a kind, but, Baby Boy, why?" "Baby Girl, look at the Big Mouth Bass rise to the top of the water Just for a Breath of fresh (sun Light), then disappear like ripples before you can even notice. That's how suddenly soul mates grow close: they can fall from strangers to likers in less than the 60 seconds in an eternal moment."

§ 1 Basic provisions

(1) The following terms and conditions of business apply for all contracts concluded with us as the supplier (preigu GmbH & Co. KG) via the websites AbeBooks and/or ZVAB. Unless otherwise agreed, the inclusion of your own terms and conditions is explicitly rejected.

(1) The statutory warranty rights are applicable.

(2) As a consumer, you are requested to promptly check the product for completeness, visible defects and transport damage as soon as it is delivered, and promptly disclose your complaints to us and the shipping company in writing. Even if you do not comply with this request, it shall have no effect on your legal warranty claims.

(3) If a characteristic of the goods deviates from the objective requirements, the deviation shall only be deemed to be agreed if you were informed of the same by us before submitting the contractual declaration and the deviation was expressly and separately agreed between the contracting parties.

§ 5 Choice of law, place of fulfilment, jurisdiction

(1) German law shall apply. Consequences of the revocation

You will receive a confirmation email from the platform operator acknowledging receipt of your notice of withdrawal.
The data is then transmitted to us by the platform operator.
If the contact relates to a contract already concluded between you and us, this data processing is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. Otherwise, data processing is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR, to fulfil a legal obligation to provide an electronic withdrawal function.
We use your email address solely to process your notice of withdrawal. Your data will subsequently be deleted in accordance with statutory retention periods, provided you have not consented to further processing and use.

Collection, processing, and transfer of personal data in orders
When you submit an order we only collect and use your personal data insofar as this is necessary for the fulfilment and handling of your order as well as processing of your queries. The provision of data is necessary for conclusion of a contract. Failure to provide it will prevent the conclusion of any contract. The processing will occur on the basis of Article 6(1) b) GDPR and is required for the fulfilment of a contract with you.
Your data will be shared, for example, with shipping companies, dropshipping or fulfillment providers, payment service providers, service providers for order processing, and IT service providers. We will comply strictly with legal requirements in every case. The scope of data transmission is restricted to a minimum.

Duration of storage
After contractual processing has been completed, the data is initially stored for the duration of the warranty period, then in accordance with the retention periods prescribed by law, especially tax and commercial law, and then deleted after the period has elapsed, unless you have agreed to further processing and use.

Rights of the affected person
If the legal requirements are fulfilled, you have the following rights according to art. 15 to 20 GDPR: Right to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability. You also have a right of objection against processing based on art. 6 (1) GDPR, and to processing for the purposes of direct marketing, according to art. 21 (1) GDPR.

Right to complain to the regulatory authority
You have the right to complain to the regulatory authority according to art. 77 GDPR if you believe that your data is not being processed legally.

Right to object
If the data processing outlined here is based on our legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6(1)f) GDPR, you have the right for reasons arising from your particular situation to object at any time to the processing of your data with future effect.
If the objection is successful, we will no longer process the personal data, unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that outweigh your interests or rights and freedoms, or the processing is intended for the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims.
