Print on Demand. This book delves into the state of children's physical development, arguing that despite advancements in other areas, it has regressed. The author asserts that excessive schoolwork, coupled with poor posture and lifestyle habits, is contributing to a rise in spinal deformities in the younger population. This book argues that problems with posture during childhood are due to this increased pressure on children to excel, resulting in a sacrifice of physical development and leading to widespread health issues. The author, an expert in medicine and orthopedics, highlights the need for parental awareness and early intervention to combat these issues. The book challenges the current education system and offers guidance to parents and teachers, providing practical exercises and advice on how to promote healthy physical development in children. By understanding the importance of exercise and proper posture, and by implementing the book's recommendations, parents and educators can help children maintain a healthy, active lifestyle, and prevent the onset of spinal deformities. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

IN standing sponsor for the English edition Of this little book which issued from the Berlin Press in 1893, I would remind the reader that it was origin ally intended for the German public, and that in England considerable progress has been made in the better regulation Of our schools and in the more rational upbringing Of our children. School-house furniture has been much improved, and the cubic space allotted to each scholar has been increased; still much remains to be done. Not only is the ventilation Of many schoolrooms mo'st imperfect, but it is becoming common now-a-days to warm them by means Of various hot-air contrivances, and this unduly warmed air has a tendency to sap the life and energy Of our children. It is time that a stand was made against this system, which is alike nu scientific in theory and unwholesome in practice.
