FOCUSED PRACTICE: Spectrums Second Grade Hands-On Math Workbook features illustrated full-color activities, over 150 cut-out math manipulatives, 4 dry-erase boards to use with a variety of write on and wipe clean exercises, a dry-erase marker, and a storage pouch. Through concepts that are broken down into smaller manageable activity-based lessons, young learners find it easier to learn and build mental math skills for learning that lasts a lifetime.
CORRELATED TO CURRENT STATE STANDARDS: Aligned with State Standards, this math workbook for second graders provides engaging multisensory activities to help you teach your child the essential building blocks they will need for future math success, including adding up to four two-digit numbers, adding and subtracting within 1,000, using addition and subtraction within 100 to solve word problems, and measuring in inches and centimeters.
HOW IT WORKS: Each new exercise begins with step-by-step instructions and easy-to-follow visuals to help prepare your child for the hands-on learning activity. The activities allow your child to use the colorful counters and dry-erase panels to practice new concepts, including place value charts, early multiplication, adding and subtracting with money, and beginning fractions, and more. Students then progress to more advanced practice using a variety of classroom-style worksheets and illustrated exercises.
WORKING TOGETHER: The experience-based lessons are designed to help parents and teachers help their children master grade-appropriate math skills. Throughout the book, you will find "A Closer Look" sections that provide clear explanations of educational terms, as well as tips on helping your child to get ready for the third grade. The answer key will help to assess and gauge your child's understanding and success.
