Special Operations Executive Assignment is a compact, action-focused account of the missions, methods, and personalities of Britain’s wartime SOE — the clandestine organisation created to “set Europe ablaze” through sabotage, subversion, and support for resistance movements. The book traces how agents were selected and trained, the equipment and tradecraft they relied on, and the high-risk operations they undertook behind enemy lines. Blending operational detail with human stories, it highlights both the ingenuity and the peril that defined SOE work, from parachute drops and coded messages to the constant threat of betrayal and capture. A strong, collectible title for readers of WWII espionage, resistance history, and classic accounts of Britain’s covert war.
