Thorne Magnus Calder, heir to the Duke of St. Cyr has been betrayed by his own heart.
Watching Quinn court the lovely Lady Alain was a pain so visceral he quit London for India.
All Calder wanted was to put some distance between them and investigate the machinations of a group intent on establishing a skin trade in the heart of England.
He didn't expect to be taken captive by a ghost.
Lord Quintin Wyntor's heart has always belonged to Calder but their position in society —and the Queen— requires they marry. The strain drives a wedge between them.
As a man of honor, Quinn marries the very woman who drove that last wedge between he and Calder in order to save her. He never anticipated she would hand him the key to his freedom and their future.
But when Calder receives word that Quinn and Celeste are married… It’s a vow Calder refuses to break.
Lady Alain forces Quinn to accept that his love for Calder cannot be denied and Quinn realizes that the risks they’ll face together may not be as dangerous as their desolation as they attempt to survive apart.
As Quinn chases Calder to India one thing is certain— Quinn will not return to England without the man he loves.
If they can conquer their differences together their little triumvirate may be given the grace to survive.

In a way, Celeste is the grace that saves them both.

Calder, my dear delicate love. He is wonderfully layered. The exterior is a protection for his vulnerability. I fell for him just as surely as I did Quinn in The Trouble with Grace. I enjoyed the complex relationship of the 3 of them. Wish there had been more interaction between Calder and Celeste. I would love to see their friendship bloom the way we got to see with Quinn. But then I guess Calder is not HER hero. I think the dynamic of the friendship they will share will be so entertaining and wholly different than it is with Quinn since there is no sexual attraction on either part.
I love Calder's jealousy and that he finally has to admit it to himself while dealing with the entirety of his feelings/emotions.
I went in thinking Calder needed to man up and be the hero Quinn deserved. I quickly realized the same could be said for Quinn. The profound sadness that although Calder literally leaves Quinn waiting for his return, Calder was waiting for a return as well. Oh the feels! Oh the FEELS!
I found myself once more screaming "COMMUNICATE. Just say the words. Stop the nonsensical 2 words stop, 3 words stop. Explain the situations. How hard is it Quintin?" I know the terms aren't there to explain sexuality but you can still describe it right? I was way too emotionally involved and just wanted them happy already :) It was a catch because I also never wanted the book to end, ever. I could read these characters forever.
Love is love is love is love! This story was a pure representation of that fact. Thank you Ms. Jenn LeBlanc.
I cannot leave without mentioning that someone made an appearance and that person stole my flipping heart and I’m not sure how I feel about that or what that says about me. He is slightly (maybe completely) off kilter and that set my heart a pitter pattering. Woah! In my head I am his heroine. Don’t judge me. ' This author had a new die-heart reader. Just take all my money now please!
