"Thus Spake Zarathustra," likely Friedrich Nietzsche's most famous work, is presented in an early Modern Library edition. Described (on Wikipedia) as "philosophical fiction," it is translated from the German by Thomas Common. With an introduction by the author's sister, Mrs. Elizabeth FĂ rster-Nietzsche. Likely published c.1925-29 (no publication date appears in book). --- In Toledano spine #4 / black leatherette ("Croftleather") limp boards / gilt titling and decorations on spine / gilt torchbearer to front panel / yellow Bernhard endpapers. Lacks the dust jacket. ML #9.1. --- A partial split near front of book has been repaired on this item, and with conspicuous wear to cover extremities, otherwise a rather well-preserved, tightly-bound copy of this classic work.; 16mo - 6 to 7 in. tall; 325 pages.
