Synopsis
This, the sixth edition of Lord Greenway's "Soviet Merchant Ships", is a concise, practical recognition manual for those concerned with international shipping. Some 450 illustrations are included in this reference volume. Classes covered by text and illustration include passenger ships, ferries, barge carriers, ro-ro cargo ships, cellular containers, reefers and general cargo carriers as well as sea-river cargo ships, dry bulk carriers, tankers, fish factory ships and trawlers, special service, research and training ships, icebreakers, salvage tugs, cable ships, buoy layers and oil/gas industry service ships. Altogether some 4000 vessels are detailed and indexed with date of building, tonnage, dimensions and engines all grouped by class. A cyrillic alphabet and transliteration is included. This is a companion volume to "Comecon Merchant Ships" by Ambrose Greenway.
