This 6.125 x 7.625 inch, 91 page softcover book is the handsome 1905 first edition of this title by Paul Elder?s Toyome Press or San Francisco and New York. This copy is bound with stiff interior cardboard covers with a dark green paper covering. The paper covers show a bit of wear at the margins and with three chips missing from the spine fold. One chip of about one inch long. The green paper covers show gilt lettering and design on front and real panel. The interior shows a previous owner?s inked name on the ffep and there is a paper separation between the ffep and the rest of the text block - - but the ffep is still firmly attached to the book. The rest of the text pages are in near fine condition with the tissue guard protecting the frontispiece. There is a touch of browning to the paper with the pages featuring the Japanese style uncut margin. The book pages feature margin designs with quoted statements by numerous authors commenting on women and their ways. A handsome little item. This volume contains seven small black-and-white pictures laid in loose along with a gift card with gift inscription to the previous owner whose name is on the ffep. 91 pages.
