Explore the early days of atmospheric science with A. Lawrence Rotch's "Sounding the Ocean of Air." This meticulously reproduced edition delves into the innovative use of kites in meteorological research. Rotch, a pioneer in the field, details the methods and findings of using kites to study the atmosphere, offering a fascinating glimpse into the challenges and triumphs of early aviation and meteorological observation.

Discover how kites were instrumental in gathering data about air pressure, temperature, and wind patterns at various altitudes. This book provides invaluable insights into the foundations of our understanding of meteorology and the behavior of the atmosphere. A vital resource for anyone interested in the history of science, particularly in the fields of meteorology, aeronautics, and the exploration of our planet's air envelope.
