5.25" x 8" 13, 335 pps. plus scientific journal advertisements of the period (up to and including "New Work by Mr. Darwin." B/W diagrams and engravings throughout. Pale yellow endpapers. Text is clean, tight, toned and unmarked. Note: pages I through XIII have circa one inch closed horizontal tear per page. Brown cloth-bound boards with black border graphics on cover and gold printing on spine show wear but are good overall.
