This edition is the first illustrated edition of this title with several black-and-white full-page illustrations and decorative design by Charles Copeland. This copy is in near fine condition with the grey cloth over boards showing very little corner or edge wear and with the gilt lettering on the front panel with white design all bright and clean and with just one very modest half-inch spot on the front panel. The tissue guard does have a two-inch tear but is firmly in place and complete. The text pages are in fine condition with just a touch of age toning and two additional full-page black-and-white illustrations and several black-and-white partial-page sketches to highlight the story, along with the handsome red highlighted segment of the 23rd Psalm that are placed through the text pages. The book includes two brief commentaries by Professor George E. Post and the famous American philosopher Henry Ward Beecher at the conclusion of the text pages. A handsome edition of this religious classic. unpaginated pages.". Seller Inventory # 1505-986
