Somatic Workbook for Nervous System Regulation is a hands-on companion for anyone seeking to feel calmer, safer, and more connected in daily life. Blending simple practices with clear science, it explains how your body processes stress and how you can retrain it with breathwork, grounding, movement, and mindful awareness. Written by Anika Sullivan, this approachable guide offers step-by-step exercises you can use right away at home, in therapy, or in group settings. You will learn how the somatic and autonomic nervous systems work together, and why regulation depends on listening to your body's signals. The book covers how fight, flight, freeze, and fawn states show up physically, and shows you practical actions like grounding techniques, breath practices, and gentle movement that help bring your system back into balance. The workbook is organized for real-life use. It opens with foundational concepts, then builds somatic awareness, moves into regulation in practice, and expands into blended therapies before exploring yoga in depth. It closes with long-term integration, journaling prompts, an astrocartography resource guide, and a daily planner. Each part offers concise teaching and guided exercises so you can practice, reflect, and track progress over time. Throughout, you will see why working with the body can create deeper, more lasting change than thought-based approaches alone. By engaging your nervous system directly, you can release stored tension, reduce symptoms of dysregulation, and build resilience. The emphasis is on accessible skills, practiced consistently, that support physical and emotional healing over the long term. Inside the book, you will find: The Somatic Nervous System and why regulation matters - Learn how your body's sensory and motor systems work Somatic therapy for mental health and the mind-body connection - Explore how emotions and psychological states manifest physically Working with trauma in the body and understanding survival responses - Understand fight, flight, freeze, and fawn patterns and how they get 'stuck' in the nervous system Nourishing the mind and body with practical self-care - Develop daily habits that support nervous system health Breath as a healing tool to calm and reset - Use specific breath techniques to influence your nervous system and shift from stress to calm Grounding and self-regulation techniques you can use anywhere - Master quick, portable strategies to anchor yourself in the present moment and ease anxiety Mindfulness-based somatic practices that build awareness and safety - Combine mindful attention with body awareness to notice early signs of dysregulation and cultivate self-compassion Movement and expressive practices, including dance and free movement, to complete stress cycles - Engage your body in creative, intuitive movement that helps release tension and express emotions This workbook is both a learning resource and a practice guide, offering you the knowledge and tools to take an active role in your own regulation and resilience. Whether you are beginning your healing journey or deepening an existing practice, the combination of clear explanations, diverse exercises, and supportive structure will help you reconnect with your body's innate capacity to heal. Over time, these practices become not just responses to stress, but a way of living that fosters safety, vitality, and self-trust. This item is printed on demand.
