You see, that is the story of Solomon. He never asked for the money. He never desired to have the money. So why did God give it to him if he didn’t want or need it? That is the question we explore in this book. Why? Why do we want more than we have and what would we do with more if we had it? Solomon never asked, but God gave him beyond anything he could ever dream of having. What remains is this: what did he do with what God gave him? Come along with us on this journey of discovery into God’s great gift.
There are times in everyone’s life where more is not an option. And by more, I mean, money. What do we need more money for. How do we get more money so we can be doing the things we think we need to be doing using the money we think we need. That is the long way, of course, saying that we need to trust our own judgement instead of God’s, because trusting God means we are going to let God tell us what we need, when we need it, and why!
Any other form of “Getting more money” is our way of saying we don’t trust God to get what we need, when we need it, for the purposes we need to have it. When it is us who are determining what we need, the means we think we need to employ to get it, and the use of it after we have gained what we have sought, is our way of saying we are better at this than God.
That brings us to Solomon!!! Did he ask God for money? NO! Did he offer to do anything to get God to give him more money? NO! So, how did he get the money he didn’t ask for and surely didn’t need? Because that is the story of Solomon and it is God’s story to us. Let’s step back slightly and see what happened.
- Solomon asked for wisdom, not money.
- God asked Solomon to build a Temple for God’s people to worship HIM.
- Solomon built the Temple. He didn’t do anything else but work on the Temple until it was complete.
- When the Temple was complete, Solomon asked God what HE wanted Solomon to do next?
- Listen carefully here: God said, “Whatever you turn your hand to will prosper.”
- God said, that is your reward for doing what I asked you to do and doing it the way I asked you to do it. “You didn’t turn to the right or the left. You didn’t try to do several other things when I asked you to build the Temple. You did what I asked, when I Asked it, and now I will reward you for being obedient for doing it the way I wanted it done.”
- That is the story of Solomon: Do what is asked-first, do it completely, then ask, “What’s next,” If God has something for you to do, do it! If not, ask HIM what you should be doing. If nothing, then thank HIM And continue to learn, follow, and be the faithful son or daughter you need to be for God.
- Do NOT, as Solomon did, stop listening to GOD. Stop following GOD. Stop trusting GOD. And start trusting yourself instead of God. That is surely the single greatest path to destruction. The path Solomon followed!!
- God’s Word said HE is our supply. Solomon found that to be true. The result is that God supplied riches far beyond anything Solomon could have imaged. When Solomon took over control of his life and stopped following GOD’s plan for his life, Solomon failed miserably!!
- That is the story of Solomon. Trust GOD!!! Always!!! For everything!!

Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.
Information regarding the right of withdrawal
Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to California Books, Fort Wayne, Indiana, U.S.A., without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
