Red Cushing's fast-paced memoir of a life spent fighting in uniform and out of it. An Irish adventurer with a flair for storytelling, Cushing recounts service in the US Marines, the Spanish Civil War, the British Army and various irregular campaigns. The tone is bold, irreverent and unapologetically colourful, mixing fact, bravado and battlefield anecdote into a vivid portrait of the mid‑20th‑century soldier of fortune Minor wear to edges of cover, end papers tanned.
