Nick Woods used to be one of our country's greatest snipers, but these days he's a recovering veteran. Having seen too much, he lives out in the country, where he struggles mightily with PTSD, extreme paranoia, and a wife who loves him despite his faults. The former marine scout sniper doesn't trust anyone and for good reason after the government betrayed him. Nick had completed a top-secret mission behind enemy lines in the '80s when a few members of the CIA thought it best if he were killed and all loose ends tied up. Unfortunately for them, Nick pulled off a once-in-a-lifetime escape and foiled their plans. But all that happened years ago, and he fights every day to put the past behind him with the help of his wife. Sadly - for a lot of people - Nick is about to get caught in a grand conspiracy between a senior investigative reporter and a shadowy CIA group. After said reporter, Allen Green, learns the details of Nick's mission and publishes them for the world to see, he realizes he's crossed the line and blown the top off America's national security. Now Nick and Allen find themselves in the sights of a desperate and tenacious CIA hunter-killer group. These commandos put country above all else, and they regularly break the law and kill at will. They'll stop at nothing to take down the war hero Nick Woods and the dangerous, tenacious reporter who published the earth-shattering story he'd been chasing for years.…

- Book 1 of 5: Nick Woods
An intrepid, tireless reporter, seeking the truth.
A CIA hunter-killer group, who will stop at nothing to silence the story.
This is the book you've been looking for: a deep, dark conspiracy that should delight those who loved the Jason Bourne movies, as well as fans of authors Vince Flynn, Tom Clancy, and Stephen Hunter. You won't believe what happens when free speech slams into the messy realities of national security.
Meet Nick Woods, a former Marine Scout Sniper, who used to be one of our country's greatest operatives.
Meet Allen Green, a ballsy reporter in his fifties, who's desperate to break the biggest story since Watergate.
When the book begins, Nick is in hiding, using an alias, and believes he'll never be found. Allen is opposed to all violence and believes he will never use a gun against someone.
Both couldn't be more wrong....
Sold Out is an epic, fast-paced story that will leave you breathless, waiting to see what happens next. It's also the first book in the spectacular Nick Woods series (fifth book to land in latter part of 2023).
The Nick Woods series has climbed to the top of the charts on Amazon for good reason, making its climb as an indie book without a large publishing house behind it.
It's also been picked up by Audible.com for a multi-book, audio deal. It’s written by Stan R. Mitchell, who served as an infantry Marine and earned the Combat Action Ribbon. He also spent a decade-plus in print journalism, giving him the perfect, unique background to author this book.
