Offering a unique introduction to the analysis of contemporary Canadian society, this in-depth study focuses on both the roots of modern civilizations and the current political economy of Canada. Drawing on various sociological theories as well as anthropology, genetics, economics, history, philosophy, politics, and social psychology, this accessible and integrated book helps undergraduate students make sense of a complex social world. Allowing students to open their minds to the “sociological imagination” by connecting the world to their own lived experiences, this revised edition includes several new topics, reorganized chapters, and student-friendly language.
