About the Author: Kalyani K Mehta, PhD is Associate Professor at the Department of Social Work and Psychology, National University of Singapore. She is an international consultant, the current Managing Editor of the Asia Pacific Journal of Social Work and has published extensively in international and regional journals. She is a Council member of the Asia Pacific Association for Social Work Education, Council member of the International Association of Gerontology, and member of the Advisory Board of the Asia Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies.
