About the Author: Rev. Dr. John R. Halbert He is the second of twelve children to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Halbert. Born in Steens, Mississippi, He is married to Mae Halbert and has three sons; Nicky, Sedrick and Reginald(twins). Rev. Reuben Russell pastor of Vernon Chapel was his mentor and father in the ministry. He continued his education and graduated from Wilberforce University, Wilberforce, OH with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Liberal Arts, and Minor in Business Administration. He received a Master of Divinity from Payne Theology Seminary Wilberforce, OH, and awarded "The Best Preacher Award."He also has a Doctor of Ministry from United Theology Seminary, Dayton, OH. His field of concentration is prayer ministry. He has served in the pastoral ministry for 24 years.
