Former crime reporter Lena Hart returns home after her estranged father dies under suspicious circumstances, expecting only to settle his cabin and leave before winter traps her in the mountains. But on her first night back, she sees a terrified girl running barefoot through a snowstorm.
The next morning, no one admits the girl exists.
Then Lena finds a bloodstained burgundy scarf buried near the woods-and a hidden lockbox left by her father, filled with old photographs, sealed notes, and one chilling warning:
Do not trust the snowline.
Twenty years earlier, sixteen-year-old Tessa Vale vanished from a charity gala at the abandoned Snowline Lodge. The town called her a runaway. Lena's father believed she was murdered. Now every clue points to a powerful family, a corrupted search team, and a secret Briarfall has protected for decades.
As Lena digs deeper, someone begins watching her cabin. Evidence disappears. Fires start. The mountain roads close. And the closer she gets to the truth, the more she realizes her father may not have died naturally.
In a town where everyone knows the story but no one tells it, Lena must decide who to trust before the coming blizzard traps her on Snowline Mountain with a killer who has already buried one witness in the snow.
The Snowline Witness is a gripping Vermont suspense thriller about cold cases, small-town secrets, family guilt, and the dangerous truth waiting beneath the winter ice.
