The best buddy duo of Weekend and Zay are back for another day of fun at school . . . depending on who's point of view you're looking from, of course!Weekend and Zay are excited for a snow day (Weekend more than Zay, who hates missing school), but their plans of friendly snowball fights and building forts are put in jeopardy by threats from a neighborhood bully. Undaunted, the two friends use their intelligence and ingenuity to gain the upper hand on their nuisance neighbor. It doesn't hurt that a home security camera has captured the bully's rare defeat. Will the threat of a viral video finally bring peace to the neighborhood?Snow Day is the second book in the Weekend and Zay series that follows two unlikely friends. Zay loves going to school and is one of the top students in his class. He is favored by his teachers for his quick answers and extensive vocabulary. Weekend, on the other hand, can't wait for school to be over each day, especially Friday. The sooner the weekend comes, the sooner Weekend can go home and play his video games. As in Saturday School, the first title in the series, Weekend does have a soft spot for Zay and secretly appreciates his friend's intelligence and desire to be in school. It just takes Zay longer to have Weekend come around to enjoying the fun parts of school and extracurricular activities. The Weekend and Zay series provides grade school readers with lessons based on real-life experiences through the characters of Wade (Weekend) and Zayvier (Zay). These two characters exhibit personalities and likes and dislikes very similar to grade school students all over the United States. Author RaQia Lowo has written chapter books and middle grade novels geared towards reluctant readers and students struggling in school. Her writing provides students with motivation to better themselves through education.…
