Sniff Squad Dog Training Field Journal: The Detective's Mission Log
The hands-on companion to Sniff Squad, where kids record real clues, real scent trails, and real training progress with their dog.
Every mission needs a case file. This is your young detective's.
The Sniff Squad Dog Training Field Journal is built to be used alongside Sniff Squad: Dog Training for Kids Who Love Mysteries, giving kids a place to log clues, track their dog's progress, and earn badges as they work through each mission. It turns the training into a habit instead of a one-off afternoon, and it keeps the mystery going long after the last chapter.
One reviewer, D.C., a self-described education executive with 40 years in the field, found a hidden code tucked into the journal's pages that unlocked an extra mystery back in the original Sniff Squad book, something she said she'd completely missed on her first read. That's the kind of detail this journal is built around: it doesn't just track training, it rewards kids for paying close attention.
Inside the journal:
- 10 Detective Mission Case Files to record clues, log training sessions, and track a dog's progress mission by mission
- A hidden code, woven into the journal, that connects back to a secret layer of the mystery in the main Sniff Squad book
- Mission Badge Tracker to celebrate every completed mission and milestone
- Codes, puzzles, and word searches to keep detective brains sharp between training sessions
- Simple, safe, dog-friendly activities designed for kids to lead with light adult supervision
Perfect for ages 8-13, and for any kid who's already working through the first Sniff Squad book, or getting a second dog (or a sibling) into the case.
This isn't a workbook that gets used once and shelved. It's designed to be picked back up mission after mission, so training stays consistent and the bond between kid and dog keeps building.
Pairs with Sniff Squad: Dog Training for Kids Who Love Mysteries. Read the case, then log it. Two books, one investigation.
Continue the mission. Open the journal.
