Octavo. Original wraps bound into a homemade hardcover with designs pasted down on the front cover and an old paper title label on the spine. (4) parts bound in one: 59 pages, [5] pages advertisements; 64 pages; 79 pages, [1] page advertisement; 21 pages. Illustrated with 3 trimmed, color lithographic front covers and black and white illustrations by Thomas Worth and Hopkins. Homemade binding is in poor condition. Front cover is detached. Covers shellacked. Back cover has a an old corner damp stain and crease. The right front flyleaf and first illustrated front cover are detached. The other trimmed two front covers are securely bound inside. The fourth part (Mikado) has no illustrated front cover and is printed in double columns. A closed tear to page 21 last part. Interior contents clean. 1897 Christmas gift inscription written on the front paste down. 1896 dated advertisement located in the first part. Stories written by George B. Small.
