The Healthy Snacking Guide to Renovate Your Child's Eating Habits and Snack Choices
Most parents hear this question daily, even when their kids aren't hungry. If you’ve got kids who snack all day, raid the pantry when they get home from school, or sneak snacks when you’re not looking, then you’re probably frustrated. Maybe you give them whatever they want, so they’ll leave you alone. Or, maybe you offer healthy snacks at snack time but your kids complain, fuss, or refuse to eat them. You may give up hope of ever raising a healthy snacker.
Please don’t give up!
In The Smart Mom’s Guide to Healthy Snacking, pediatric dietitian Jill Castle lays out a plan for raising kids who enjoy (and even choose) nutritious snacks. With the acronym S.N.A.C.K. S.M.A.R.T., parents and caretakers can create a fail-proof strategy that provides nutritious, satisfying snacks while teaching children healthy snacking habits they will use as they grow up.
The Smart Mom’s Guide to Healthy Snacking makes it easy to raise a Smart Snacker, one who chooses nutrient-rich snacks on their own, enjoys eating them, and who develops good eating habits to last a lifetime.
This book will teach you how to:
- Set up a routine with snacking, including where to serve them and when, and what foods (and combinations of foods) to serve
- Choose nutritious combinations of snack foods, emphasizing nutrient-dense options while including room for sweets and treats
- Encourage mindful eating and appetite awareness when snacking
- Make fast and healthy and yummy snack ideas for kids that spark their curiosity
- Monitor your child’s snacking without becoming a food cop
- Change eating habits around snacking like sneaking, hiding snacks, overeating, and unhealthy food choices
The Smart Mom’s Guide to Healthy Snacking also offers healthy snack food ideas, creative and nutritious snack food combinations, on-the-go snack solutions, and simple recipes for healthier snacks.
Take back the snack! Lead your child to nutritious snacking options, improve their snacking habits, and raise a Smart Snacker!
