What if I told you that a hacker could turn off your entire city’s power—from halfway across the world? Sounds like a cyber-thriller, right? Except it’s not fiction. Welcome to the chaotic, high-stakes battlefield of smart grid cybersecurity, where power plants, substations, and smart meters are under constant attack, and the difference between light and darkness is just a few lines of malicious code.
Smart Grid Cybersecurity: Attacking and Defending Energy IoT Systems is your front-row ticket to understanding how hackers break into modern energy infrastructure—and more importantly, how to stop them. We’ll dive into real-world exploits, from hijacking smart meters and manipulating energy consumption data to breaking SCADA systems, jamming wireless communications, and even hacking EV charging stations. And don’t worry—it’s not all doom and gloom. I’ll also show you how to secure the grid, lock down vulnerable protocols, and stay ahead of cyber threats.
Who Should Read This?
- Ethical hackers & penetration testers who love breaking things to protect them
- Security professionals securing SCADA, AMI, and industrial IoT networks
- Energy sector IT teams battling cyber threats in smart grids
- Red teamers & blue teamers sharpening their offensive and defensive skills
- Anyone who finds the idea of hacking the power grid both exciting and terrifying
