Print on Demand. This book, written by an expert in the field, provides a comprehensive guide to the scientific principles underlying skiascopy, a non-invasive method of determining the eye's refractive power. The author begins by explaining the basic concepts of optics and then applies these principles to skiascopy. The book covers various aspects of the subject, including the study of the eye by skiascopy, conditions favorable for successful work in skiascopy, skiascopic devices and inventions, and the interpretation of skiascopic findings. Additionally, the author discusses the application of skiascopy in the examination of eyes with different refractive errors, including emmetropia, ametropia, astigmatism, and pathological cases. The book provides a valuable resource for optometrists, ophthalmologists, and students of ophthalmology who wish to gain a deeper understanding of skiascopy and its applications in refractive care. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. The compilation of this volume was undertaken in response to a general demand on the part of oculists and Opticians for a work which would cover the subject more fully than any thus far published. Any treatise on skiascopy is obviously incomplete which merely describes the method of applying the shadow test without satisfactory explanation of the optical principles involved.
