1857 2nd edition. 247pp. Good/None. Brown cloth boards with minor rubbing/bumping to edges/spine, minor splitting/fraying to top of spine, minor scuffing. Contents clean and tight but for very minor soiling/splitting. A series of anecdotes about Lancashire and its inhabitants recorded during the author's travels around the county whilst working for a Manchester printing firm. Waugh (1817-1890) was known as the Lancashire Poet or Lancashire Burns, and his often bawdy and heart rending verse and prose, often in the Lancashire dialect, was popular locally and in the wider country.
