Paperback. In the neon-lit streets of 23rd century San Francisco, "Heck" Laughton, a hard-boiled detective with a taste for the old ways, dives into the city's seedy underbelly. His latest case: find Kigo, a fifth-gender sex worker and minor celeb, vanished after a high-profile gig. Last seen at a fundraiser for a cop-loving congressman, Kigo's disappearance reeks of scandal. Laughton's only lead? A congressman's avatar, a cunning holoform with secrets. As he grills this digital decoy, it's clear: there's more to this holographic helper than meets the eye. Something's being hidden, or someone's pulling its strings. Time's ticking in a city where shadows whisper and the truth is as elusive as the fog. Laughton's on the hunt, through dive bars and data streams, to find Kigo-dead or alive. But in a world where justice is a rare commodity, can Laughton deliver it, or will this case be his last? This item is printed on demand.
