Limited deluxe edition, a beautifully presented volume, sealed with red silk ribbons with carved, bone-like peg clips. as issued with two singed, numbered limited edition prints of Shaun Tan's art work and housed in the published lettered and decorated card clamshell box. 208pp. 4to. Volume is 'as new' condition, still sealed in the publisher's shrink wrap. A unique visual collection of the Grimm Brother's fairy tales reimagined by award-winning artist and author, Shaun Tan: in place of traditionally styled illustrations, the volume includes some 75 photographs of sculptural art made from materials such as clay and paper mache, paired with poetic extracts from one of the fairy tales collected by the Brothers Grimm, described by the publisher as 'surreal, primal and often dark, capturing the eerie essence of the original, uncensored folklore'. A stunning showcase of Tan's talent both as an artist and as a storyteller.
