VINTAGESTAN BOOKS Title: Sinclair ZX81 BASIC Programming by Steven Vickers Summary: Sinclair ZX81 BASIC Programming by Steven Vickers is both a user manual and an introduction to programming for the Sinclair ZX81. It teaches complete beginners how to use the ZX81's built-in BASIC language while explaining how the computer itself works. Steven Vickers wrote the ZX81 BASIC interpreter itself, so the manual serves as an authoritative guide to the language. It became one of the most influential beginner programming books of the early 1980s, introducing many home-computer owners to programming through clear explanations and practical examples. The book is a hands-on tutorial that starts with turning on the ZX81 and ends with readers being able to write their own structured BASIC programs, understand the machine's memory and graphics, and make effective use of the ZX81's limited hardware.
