Paperback. Book 1: The Silver Blaze: Adventures of a Retired SuperheroMildred "Millie" McGuffin, once the indomitable Silver Blaze, saved the world countless times with her super strength, blazing speed, and dramatic flair. But those glory days are behind her now. Trading capes for cardigans and meteoric rescues for HOA meetings, Millie's retirement in Quietville is anything but quiet. Her powers, like her knees, aren't what they used to be-unpredictable at best, laughably ineffective at worst. One moment, she's leaping into action to save a neighbor's cat; the next, she's stuck in a tree herself. But when everyday life serves up challenges as ridiculous as malfunctioning toasters and passive-aggressive garden gnomes, Millie is reminded that a hero's work is never truly done.Enter Walkertron 5000, her AI-powered, sass-filled walker that does everything from monitoring her health to deploying grappling hooks to save the day (and Percy, her opinionated tabby, from yet another rooftop). Together, Millie and Walkertron navigate the ups and downs of small-town absurdities while proving that being a hero isn't about perfection-it's about showing up, even when the toaster starts a war.In this laugh-out-loud debut, The Silver Blaze takes on her greatest challenge yet: embracing life's chaos, one misadventure at a time. Packed with heart, humor, and a touch of nostalgia, this is a story for anyone who knows that heroes come in all shapes, sizes, and ages. This item is printed on demand. Trading capes for cardigans and meteoric rescues for HOA meetings, Millie’s retirement in Quietville is anything but quiet.
Her powers, like her knees, aren’t what they used to be—unpredictable at best, laughably ineffective at worst. One moment, she’s leaping into action to save a neighbor’s cat; the next, she’s stuck in a tree herself. But when everyday life serves up challenges as ridiculous as malfunctioning toasters and passive-aggressive garden gnomes, Millie is reminded that a hero’s work is never truly done.
Enter Walkertron 5000, her AI-powered, sass-filled walker that does everything from monitoring her health to deploying grappling hooks to save the day (and Percy, her opinionated tabby, from yet another rooftop). Together, Millie and Walkertron navigate the ups and downs of small-town absurdities while proving that being a hero isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up, even when the toaster starts a war.
