About the Author: Dr K. Muguresh Babu is Professor in and Head of the Department of Textile Technology at the Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology (BIET), Davangere, India. Professor Babu has published over 50 journal articles and has written chapters in a number of books. He has conducted research on silk-based biomaterials for Oxford Biomaterials Limited, a spin-off company from research at Oxford University. Professor Babu's research interests include silk-based biomaterials, structure-property relationships in natural fibres, organic processing of natural fibres and their applications.
