About the Author

As a child, JOSEPH MOHR (1792-1848) was both a singer and a violinist in the choirs of the University church and the Benedictine monastery church of St. Peter in Salzburg, Austria. In 1815, he was ordained as a priest.

MAJA DUS�KOV� was born in Piestany, Czechoslovakia, and now lives in Florence, Italy. One of the most celebrated children�s book illustrators in Europe, she has a pet rabbit named Cici that runs under her table while she paints and doesn�t like carrots.
