The Siri Guru Granth Sahib stands out as a unique sanctuary of wisdom, completely free from sentiments of animosity or forced conversion. Rather than compelling belief or promising worldly gain, it invites honest inner inquiry. It calls upon every individual to live as a true disciple, forever seeking deeper understanding through the Gurus' guidance. The scripture emphasizes the fundamental equality of all humanity—transcending barriers of gender, social rank, or physical status—while championing a lifestyle grounded in integrity, divine awareness, and selfless service.
Far beyond a simple historical record, this volume offers an intimate look into the lives of ten visionary leaders whose teachings forged a belief system rooted in tolerance, justice, and the relentless pursuit of truth. Readers follow the historic journey from Guru Nanak's foundational teachings of unity to the formal consolidation of the Khalsa under Guru Gobind Singh. This second edition invites readers into a transformative tradition that rejects the need to justify wrongdoing, urging us instead toward a path of peace, mutual understanding, and universal harmony.
This Second Edition of Sikhism and the Lives of the Ten Gurus has been extensively revised and enhanced throughout. The text has undergone substantial grammatical correction, proofreading and error removal to improve accuracy, clarity and readability. The bibliography has been updated and expanded, while the number and quality of illustrations have been significantly increased, with existing images enhanced and additional historical imagery introduced to provide a richer visual experience. These improvements retain the character and purpose of the original work while presenting readers with a more polished, comprehensive and professionally produced edition.
