4 inches x 5 in. Unused bookplate of one of the two brothers, who founded Burrows Brothers Booksellers, in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1873: Charles William Burrows & his wife, Lottie Thomas Mott Burrows. The bookplate was originally designed in 1895, with the designer's initials: A C R. Signed by Charles William Burrows, who was also a book collector, with a small penciled note on the reverse: Given by owner 7/17/[19]11. Printed on thin paper, this is possibly a proof copy.
