Have you ever found yourself flipping back and forth through the pages of the four gospels, trying to piece together events surrounding the birth of Jesus? Or pondering how the prophets foretold his humble birth-and then wondering where those prophecies are found in the Old Testament? All of these scriptures contribute meaningful detail, but the narrative is scattered and the style of the various authors differs considerably. Putting the story together in a coherent fashion can be a daunting task. In This Shall Be A Sign: The Nativity of Jesus Christ, author Stephen Capps has woven these various accounts into a seamless narrative told in a single voice, and illustrated it with elegant paintings carefully selected from the creations of seventeenth-, eighteenth-, and nineteenth-century masters. The result is a beautiful rendition of the miraculous and glorious accounts of the Nativity: of Zachariah and Sarah, Mary and Joseph; of the angels who prepared them for what was soon to come to pass, and then proclaimed the birth of the holy child; of the shepherds who came to see for themselves the babe of Bethlehem as he lay in a simple manger; and of the wise men who in faith came bearing gifts and to worship the Son of God. This is a book that can be enjoyed by young and old alike. It is an inspirational work that parents will want to share with their little ones at Christmastime, and that older children can read on their own. Let This Shall Be a Sign become part of your family Christmas tradition. You and your loved ones can read it again and again, strengthening your faith in Jesus Christ, born to be the Savior of the world-a world that is in sore need of being reminded of the enduring truth and reality of these sacred events.
