Print on Demand. This book is a catalog of porcelain and other tokens used as gambling chips in Siam (now Thailand) between 1821 and 1875. While not intended to replace existing works on this topic, this book features the author's comprehensive collection of over 300 such tokens, accompanied by full-color illustrations and descriptive text. Tokens included in the collection exhibit a variety of shapes and designs, many adorned with felicitous inscriptions, poetic quotes, or patriotic cash designs. This book serves as a valuable resource for collectors and individuals interested in Siamese history and culture. It provides insights into the vibrant gambling scene of 19th-century Siam and the intricate craftsmanship of these tokens, which were often created in imitation of contemporary currency. The author's cataloging efforts preserve these tokens as historical artifacts, shedding light on an intriguing chapter in the history of Siamese gaming. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
