Three volume set. Octavo. In fine sombre prize bindings by Lawrence of Rugby, from Rugby School, of full black morocco, raised bands to the spine, lettering direct, gilt school crest on upper board. All edges smooth gilty. Few minor spots endpapers. Prize label from Rugby dated 1905, to R.W.Macfarlane-Grieve who became a housemaster at Sherborne School and who drowned bathing at sea in 1934. The prize label is signed by the renowned Headmaster of Rugby H.A.James, whose nickname "The Bodger" is still in use today. Seller Inventory # 025427
