170 pages. Moving, exciting and thought-provoking, A Short Holiday is a collection of short stories, a work of fiction inspired by events real and imagined. The search for identity, emotional and mental misery and conflict, ruthless ambition, shame, freeloading, rude awakenings in marriage, love and compassion are among the themes featured by voices that alternate among the serious, witty, and whimsical. On occasion, readers will be at once eager and reluctant to make an exit, as some of the stories will force them to take a look behind some of the masks that make humans a compelling study. (SL#147).
