From the Back Cover
quality of his models built using skills initially learnt during the course
of a 5-year craft apprenticeship where he acquired the basic practical
skills in both wood and metal work.
These allied to a natural talent have been the source of his mostly very
complicated models of large battleships. He is particularly interested in
warships of the late Victoria era, which he thinks has largely been ignored
by ship modellers hitherto. He is a great exponent of the art of metal
etching about which, with Azien Watkin, he has written two books. This book
is a compilation of articles contributed by Brian to Model Boats magazine
over a period of years in which this master modeller has passed on many
gems to would-be builders of ship modellers.
A lifetime of modelling experience is contained within these pages, there
are few modellers who will not benefit from the opportunity to read and
learn.
